Ingredients
Overview
Hello Bello discloses their ingredients and what is not in their diaper. They have claims on their website that they are free from many harmful chemicals that you want to keep far away from your little one! We know too after speaking to their team that they have an in-house test of over 100 ingredients known to be harmful to children. The not so great is that there is no mention of VOCs (hormone-disrupting properties, could cause respiratory complications or allergic reactions), and Hello Bello has many claims but no physical proof that these tests were done and no third party certifications to back them up. Based on our standards and their transparency Hello Bello receives an A for the Ingredient Pillar of the Conscious Score.

Hello Bello discloses little relevant information about their sustainability practices on their website. We know that the diapers contain a plant-derived plastic core liner. And after reaching out to their team, we were informed that since they launched with Walmart, they have been required to set CO2 reduction goals and report annually for their Project Gigaton initiative. They are also working with a carbon accounting agency to determine their own CO2 impact. Their diaper manufacturing process is zero-waste, (other than umbilical cord cutouts on the newborn size) and over 80% of other waste is diverted from landfills. And their diaper factory in Texas uses 100% renewable energy. They are actively looking for new ways to reduce their water waste but do not have anything specific in place yet, and they do not have any 3rd parties certifying these claims. Hello Bello receives a B for The Environmental Pillar of The Conscious Score.
Human Rights
Hello Bello does discloses some information in a couple areas in regards to human rights. They have started a few charitable programs, encourage racial inclusivity, and have recently posted an inclusivity plan on their website. When we spoke to their team we found that they are having good faith conversations with their suppliers about forced labor, fair wages, and child slavery. They are not however conveying their impact across their supply chain in a formal way. Hello Bello receives an B for the Human Rights pillar of The Conscious Score.

Hello Bello is certified cruelty free with the Leaping Bunny Certification and they do not sell their products in any countries that require testing. While they are not certified vegan, their team has confirmed the product uses only vegan ingredients.
